The Glorious Mysteries in Downloadable Audio Files

Dedicated to Mary, Auxilium Christianorum  — the Most Holy Mother of God, Help of Christians

You may also listen to the Rosary in Latin on our     Youtube channel

T
he Rosary consists of five Mysteries that are divided into twenty decades as follows:

  • The Joyful Mysteries (5 decades)
  • The Luminous Mysteries (5 decades)
  • The Sorrowful Mysteries (5 decades)
  • The Glorious Mysteries (5 decades)

Below, the First Mystery is prayed:

The Glorious Mysteries

Each of these five Mysteries are recited — prayed, really — in Latin as our forefathers had prayed the Rosary for over a thousand years. You can follow the audio presentation in the text accompanying it below.  Please remember that each Mystery, as you listen to it, is being prayed — and not merely recited. We invite you to enter into these prayers with us. The audio files are not "professional recordings" ... they are prayers. We humbly ask you to overlook what is imperfect within them.

Our special thanks to the cloistered Community of Poor Clare Colettine Nuns of Ty Mam Duw in Wales for preparing the text for this presentation, for their loving encouragement, and for their constant prayers through which alone this project is possible.

I. Primum Mysterium - Resurrectio Domini nostri Iesu Christi

(The Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ)

(St. Matthew 28:1-7)

Pater noster, Qui es in coelis,
sanctificetur nomen Tuum;
adveniat regnum Tuum;
fiat voluntas Tua,
sicut in coelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie;
et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris;
et ne nos inducas in tentationem; sed libera nos a malo.

Amen.

(Decies repetita: Repeat each "Ave Maria" 10 times):

Ave Maria, gratia plena,
Dominus tecum;
benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,
ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

Gloria Patri,
et Filio,
et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio,
et nunc,
et semper,
et in saecula saeculorum.

Amen.

O Bone Jesu, libera nos a peccatis nostris; libera nos ab ignibus gehennae; perduc in paradisum omnes animas praesertim eas quae plus misericordia tua indigent!

  Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ
  II. Secundum Mysterium Gloriosa - Ascensio Domini nostri Iesu Christi

(the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ)

(Acts 1.6-11)

Pater noster, Qui es in coelis,
sanctificetur nomen Tuum;
adveniat regnum Tuum;
fiat voluntas Tua,
sicut in coelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie;
et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris;

The Descent of the Holy Ghost  III. Tertium Mysterium Gloriosa -Spiritus Sanctus in Apostolos Descendens

(The Descent of the Holy Ghost on the Apostles. Pentecost)

(Acts 2.1-13)

Pater noster, Qui es in coelis,

 The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven, Body and Sou
IV. Quartum Mysterium Gloriosa: Assumptio Beatae Mariae Virginis

(The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven, Body and Soul)

Itaque consolamini invicem in verbis istis." (1 Thess. 4.12-16)

 The Coronation of Mary in Heaven
  V. Quintum Mysterium Gloriosa: Maria Virgo in Caelis Coronata

(The Coronation of Mary in Heaven: Queen of Angels and Apostles)

(Apoc. 12.1, Isaiah 6)

Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae!
vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus, exules filii Evae.
Ad te suspiramus,
gementes, et flentes, in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, advocata nostra,
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria!

Ora pro nobis, Sancta Dei Genetrix,
Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi.

Oremus:

Amen.

In nomine Patris +
et Filii +
et Spiritus Sancti +

Amen.
